My Electric Avenue at the Low Carbon Networks & Innovation Conference

11th December, 2015

My Electric Avenue attended the Low Carbon Networks & Innovation Conference at ACC Liverpool on 24-26 November 2015. With over 1000 delegates from 23 different countries and over 70 exhibitors, the LCNI Conference was the UK's largest smart grid event for 2015.

The LCNI Conference provided an opportunity to explore the learning from electricity and gas network innovation projects, the closure of key large-scale projects and the final year of LCN funding. The conference also discussed how significant findings and learning from these projects will be transferred to business as usual.

Subjects discussed included network resilience, customer engagement, innovation strategies, network performance, energy futures, low carbon energy and big data.

The conference provided networking opportunities as well as over 40 breakout and workshop sessions.

My Electric Avenue attended the event to disseminate the project learning to the DNO community. The LCNI Conference was the perfect platform to share learning and results with the right audience.

My Electric Avenue shared a stand with EA Technology, and Dave Roberts gave a presentation about the project with Richard Hartshorn from Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution.

Feedback received at the event confirmed that there is a need for collaboration between the automotive and utilities sectors, and for a legacy initiative.

The My Electric Avenue Project was delivered between January 2013 and December 2015 by EA Technology on behalf of Scottish and Southern Energy Networks (SSEN) as part of the Low Carbon Networks (LCN) Fund suite of innovation projects. As the Project is now complete, this webpage will no longer be updated, however you can learn more about the work undertaken by EA Technology at www.eatechnology.com and SSEN at www.ssepd.co.uk/Home.
